Introducing our latest foster puppy, Oswald, more commonly known as Ozzy!

A photo I snapped of Ozzy on my DSLR camera. Tried to have a little photoshoot in the backyard, but he was too fixated on a stick he found to give me many good poses!

Ozzy is currently about 4 months old, and we thinkkk he’s a pit (possibly Staffy?) mix. His ears have thrown me through a loop, though— sometimes pits do have ears like his, but I’m wondering if he has something else mixed with him that’s giving him those crazy (but very cute!) ears.

This little guy is about 20lbs now, and is fully house trained! He’s quite vocal about his wants and needs, and will bark to let you know he needs to go out to potty. Occasionally when he gets overly excited, he’ll accidentally have a little puppy tinkle, but that’s few and far between these days.

He is food-motivated and has been hard at work learning basic obedience. He’s all but mastered “sit” and “paw” now. We are still working on leash work but he’s come out of his shell and is no longer afraid of the leash— in fact, when he hears us getting it out of the closet, he comes running, excited for his walk!

One of my favorite things about Ozzy is this cute little habit he has of “forgetting” he’s able to jump on the couch on his own. He can absolutely jump up on the couch (and even the bed) by himself, but he prefers to perch on the edge of the couch/bed and stare longingly at his humans until he gets “uppies” (lifted up onto the couch/bed to snuggle with his people).

We’ve had Ozzy for about 2 months now and can’t believe he still hasn’t been adopted. We’re more than happy to give Ozzy a happy, loving place to land until he finds his furever home, but the goal is to find him his permanent humans while he’s still a cutie little pup, so they can enjoy all of his puppyhood as much as we have been!
